I'm sitting here today watching it rain. The rain clouds are this wonderful shade of gray. Loving this color I did a search for rain cloud gray. What I found was the perfect shade of gray, Storm Cloud Gray, on the Benjamin Moore website. What a great name for a color! So in honor of a rainy day in LA, and the soft calming color of the clouds, this blog is dedicated to a tone-on-tone palette. Decorating doesn't have to be all about bright bold colors. Neutral colors have a wonderful personality that could never be described as dull when done right. Soft hues will create an atmosphere of calmness. These would include colors like beige, cream or gray. You can always add a splash of color for a bolder look. Or you can keep it subtle with tone-on-tone. Shades of the same color are inviting, peaceful and relaxing. Sometimes that is just the look and feel you want in a room. Introduce patterns and textures with your window treatments, wall coverings and artwork. Pillows and area carpets also help to add to the dimension as does the lighting. Tone-on-tone is quite elegant when everything comes together. Pick one room and see what you can do to create a calm haven for your senses. I have been searching for just the right color for a sweater I am going to be making. I think I will be looking for a yarn in Storm Cloud Gray. Rainy days, I love them. They are so inspiring.
