I'm not going to send you down my 2015 memory lane. What I am going to do is show you two photos. I am showing you the first photo I took in 2015 and the last photo I took in 2015. They are both flowers and both are a study in learning a different technique.
The first one, the orchid on the left, was taken when I was learning how to work with indoor lighting. Not having a budget to buy lovely studio lighting, I raided my garage. I used shop lights. And they worked. I eventually learned to take awesome floral photos with my garage lights. Much better images than the first one I did shown here.
The last photo I took in 2015 is the white flower on the right. This photo was taken with only the light from a window. The background was also white. Up until that point I have almost always used a dark or black background. Taking this photo has been a whole new learning journey of its own. I am happy with how the year began and very happy with how it ended.
I know that 2016 will have its own learning journeys. As I look at my goals for 2016 I am excited. I hope you will stay with me to see what this next year will bring!
